DEBRIV was founded over 130 years ago in Halle/Saale. As the Deutscher Braunkohlen-Industrie-Verein e.V. (German Lignite Industry Association), it worked consistently to advance the technical, scientific, economic and political development of the lignite industry. Since reunification, DEBRIV, as the Federal Lignite Association, has been a platform for all companies in the lignite industry to represent their common interests.
On May the 19th and 20th, 2022, DEBRIV has organised in Rabedeul, Dresden (Germany), the “Lignite Day 2022 in Rabedeul”. Recovery project coordinator has attended this event and discussed on the Recovery Project and how it can help to restore former lignite mines.
