The WMC 2023 program looks to the future of mining and resources in a global context, with the Congress theme being \u201cResourcing Tomorrow: Creating Value for Society\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The abstract &#8220;<em>Restoration of ecosystem services in post-mining areas: A Recovery project approach<\/em>&#8221; was submitted to the stream &#8220;Environmental sustainability&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a Congress highlight, the two streams of &#8220;Environmental Sustainability&#8221; and &#8220;Social Performance &amp; Governance&#8221; will, in conjunction and the Cooperative Research Centre for Transformations in Mining Economies (CRC TiME), hold a Special Symposium on Mine Closure and Post-Mining Transitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/recoveryproject.uniovi.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/26th-World-Minin-Congress-Abstract.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Abstract for the WMC 2023<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 26th World Mining Congress (WMC) will be held in Brisbane, Australia, 26 \u2013 29 June 2023, hosted by Australia\u2019s national science agency, the CSIRO, and supported by government, industry, and academia.
